  4. The Chars application helps you to enter characters
  5. that are not available on the keyboard; for example
  6. accented characters or special symbols.
  7.  
  8. To start Chars, double-click on its icon.  A window
  9. will appear showing all the characters currently
  10. available.
  11.  
  12. To enter a character, position the mouse pointer over
  13. it and click SELECT (or press the SHIFT key).  The
  14. character will be entered at the caret position as if
  15. it had been typed.
  16.  
  17. Use of the SHIFT key is suggested if you are trying to
  18. enter text into a writeable icon inside a menu, as
  19. clicking SELECT will cause the menu to disappear.
  20.  
  21. If you wish to see the characters in a different font,
  22. click MENU over the window.
